After a lot of silence since Microsoft revealed what the next Xbox console will look like, named the Xbox X Series, and a respectful delay Sony finally revealed what the next console will look like.
The live stream event was a quasi-E3 for gamers and developers as we all excitedly watched the announcements of new games coming our way and eventually the big reveal of what the console will look like. Some big titles like Spiderman with Miles Morale as lead, Hitman 3, Horizon: Forbidden West and my childhood fav, Ratchet and Clank were amongst the games revealed to us.
What was good to see was the range of family friendly games like Bugsnax and Sackboy were featured as well as some Indie influenced games like Solar Ash and Goodbye Volcano High. One of the highlights for us was 'Stray' a cat protagonist game by developers Blue Twelve Studio. It might be that us Cats need to stick together but we are excited to see how playing as a cat will make a great game.
After the event, there was a lot of comments noting how the new console has a cat influence by supporting cat ears. Many Cats is assuming it has influenced the PlayStation architect Mark Cerny with this direction, correctly predicting the feline themed future of the industry. You're welcome.
We are excited to see the line-up of launch titles and the accessibility features of the new consoles. Here's hoping they allow a record number of disabled gamers to play the games they want.
